Galen College of Medical and Dental Assistants is a year round coeducational private postsecondary educational institution. Operations began at the present Fresno location in 1967 under the name Blair College. This location is in the center of the historic Tower District of Fresno. In 1969, new ownership changed the name of the institution to Galen College, in honor of the ancient Greek philosopher and physician, Claudius Galenus.
